Education Committee, his website is www.rssc.net/jolley/
Those that attended our September meeting in
Stillwater agree that Senator Clark Jolley gave an outstanding
presentation and Q n A session. He was sincere and
straightforward in describing to the group the Oklahoma political
landscape for higher education. Senator Jolley is a supporter of
free enterprise and fair competition, which means he sees the benefit
of businesses like ours.
The Senator gave several points of interest and words of wisdom.
Among them: what action we can take to deal with DHS/Workforce
disparities; what to expect with OHLAP and OTEG funds; where the
legislature currently stands regarding transfer of credit equality;
getting the word out about what we do; tips on hosting political
figures at our campuses; funding on a per pupil basis versus per
institution basis; status of OBPVS; and much more.
He emphasized having officials, from city chamber leaders up to US
Senators and Governors, visit our campuses as much as possible.
But he emphasized there are certain elements to a good presentation
during a visit. OPSA will be compiling a VIP Site-Visit Guide and
providing it to OPSA member schools.
